free fries in soho

HEADSHOTS. On the streets of New York. 99.999% of the time normal ol’ people tell me they are horrendously uncomfortable taking solo pictures - it feels bizarre and unnatural and vulnerable. “I don’t know what to do!” is *always* said. But these images always end up being some of my favorites- they end up feeling so amazing and raw and personal.

SoHo has some of the best architecture and variety, and makes the perfect backdrop for city shots.

Coming to NYC, or are you already here? HIT ME UUUUUP;)

CLASS (of 2019)

kimbel in nyc.

coming to nyc? LEMME KNOW. trips are the perfect time to capture not only family photos, but pics with girlfriends, siblings, and/or SOLO! *also, if the weather is less than ideal, it’ll give you an excuse to show off the clothes you bought for your trip that are mostly just hiding and not being seen in your selfies, so… there’s that. ;) * kimbel is a huge theater girl, so shooting in times square and around the upper west side made perfect sense. we had thebesssttttiiime.

#WOCthebook: CONGRATULATIONS, Latonya!

today is the day! it’s BOOK RELEASE DAY for my amazing friend, latonya!

Woman of Color is beautiful and powerful and inspirational. i’m not a reader, but this reads so much different than a normal book. latonya, i’m so proud of you! congratulations x 1,000,000!

*also, so thrilled that this next photo is featured in her book! also, a bunch of other photos from some of our shoots together in 2018…

parisians...

jake & haley + their beautiful kids after a soccer game near their home in paris.

we were neighbors in salt lake, and, similar to us, they gave up their suburban space for a tiny city apartment. catching up and talking groceries, transportation, city nuances and more made my heart just burst with joy for their beautiful family and parisian adventure. loved catching up, guys. until next time!

au revoir!

pregnancy glow/sunrise glow

the most beautiful family-of-almost-five in central park. kristen is everything i hoped to look like whilst pregnant, but am positive i didn’t pull it off this well. also, for those who ask what to wear for family pictures, i may just say royal blue EVERY TIME NOW. CAN YOU BELIEVE THESE COLORS?!

looking to capture THIS time with your family? are you in new york city or visiting nyc? let’s do it!

our travel passport: sam & ryan in paris

sam & ryan are two of the most genuine, beautiful, cool, fun people i’ve come across, especially when it comes to the pretty-but-notoriously-unrealistic world of social media. sam is a photographer, and together they are the power duo behind our travel passport. they KILL IT. their photos and videos are drop.dead.incredible. they’re magic in ever sense. they somehow manage to create stunning content, while simultaneously approaching life like actual, real-life humans!

the stars aligned while i was with elle in paris last september; we met up earrrly to take photos together, and it is one of the best parts of the entire trip. the photos make my heart melt now that the trip is a pile of perfect memories. i love these guys, and i can’t imagine a more beautiful couple on a more perfect morning. plus, the people-watching early in the day can’t be beat- all those photographers + clients with their tricks (think baguettes & bread crumbs thrown to lure in pigeons for the shot, and a spare shoe slap on the ground whilst they fly in in front of a glowing tower! BAM! NAILED IT! bahahahaha- so good)!

i’m ready to go back. who wants to come!? LET’S TAKE PICTURES!
